THE NEW CONSISTENT has released visuals for latest single, Rude Boys.
Appearing alongside his father, Ben Ramsay has once again teamed up with Andrew Busby to give the viewer a voyeuristic insight into his life. From the off, Ramsay has promised to strip himself down and show the world that what you see is what you get; with Rude Boys you feel authenticity.
The simplistic glimpses of ‘home life’ (playing video games, chatting in the kitchen, wearing 90s Manchester United shirts, etc.) are recognisable in each of our own lives – for The New Consistent, though, this narrative wasn’t just a box ticking exercise to try and draw in listeners and viewers with his relatable approach. Instead, it is “a bit of a love letter and a bit of a thank you,” according to Ben. Capturing his life in a sub-four-minute track, TNC has developed a knack for writing tunes that are equal measures of easy listening and lyrics that are craving to be pulled apart.
Having previously worked with Ozzy from B-town icons Swim Deep, The New Consistent has produced Rude Boys himself, which gives another indication of how personal the latest single is. Selflessly (as ever) promising that this is perhaps the only track from the EP that is TNC and TNC-only, he beams “I’m working with some new people on the tunes.” After scouting vocalists similar to Jorja Smith on Twitter we know that whatever is in the pipeline is certain to take a turn into exciting territory.
To sum up Rude Boys in a closing statement, the best thing we can suggest is to watch it for yourself and listen to The New Consistent‘s fondest memories with his father.
