Originally released as part of the Koso EP, Prague has been adapted and polished over the past handful of years while the Transgressive signed band have toured with the likes of Sundara Karma and Oscar. The four track EP is home to rarities such as the delicately blissful 12, which strips back the melodramatic antics seen on stage to simply a plucky acoustic guitar and harmonising vocals from Benjamin Gregory.
This is the constant theme throughout the release, to be honest. A Death in the Family (you may remember this from their Mahogany Session in 2013) has been given an official home and follows suit in terms of relaxing instrumentation and soothing vocals.
The Monte Carlo Kid is as off-piste as Blaenavon venture with this release. An almost oriental opening before signature Gregory vocals swaggering over an array of eclectic sounds. The vocals resonate and are as close to their rawer roots from the likes of Into the Night and Lost in Paris.
