Titled IN BLOOM, it has followed the consistently ‘woke’ approach of its predecessors talking of “building walls, dropping bombs” (Happy Judgement Day), In Bloom opens talking about atomic bombs, destruction and power – which, in the current climate are a legit threat.
Unlike previous singles from the upcoming LP, though, this is a more mellow track that will surely be a sing along favourite at the upcoming UK, EU and US tours. Definitely more ‘peace’ than ‘panic,’ if the album name is anything to go by, but a wonderful arrangement of vocals, lyrics and instrumentation nonetheless.
With choruses pleading “stop digging it up or we’re never gonna see it all in bloom,” can be interpreted however you want, but there is the overlying suggestion that sometimes you have just got to let it pass, leave it and in time everything will turn out beautiful.
The visuals of the video consist of a heavy pink presence, a lot of flowers and overall a lot of feel-good imagery. In comparison to their already released in-your-face attitude that has come before their third full length, Neck Deep have chilled out and no doubt have a lot of surprises left on The Peace and the Panic.
IN BLOOM IS AVAILABLE TO STREAM FROM MIDNIGHT 13 AUGUST
