SLAUGHTER BEACH, DOG; aka Jake Ewald (Modern Baseball vocals and guitar) are back to their brilliant best with Motorcycle.jpg – and if that isn’t enough to excite you, no less than three UK shows will see it showcased in style.

Coming back to the UK for the first time since his winter tour with Philly heart touchers Modern BaseballJake Ewald is set to play one show at Manchester‘s Partisan and two shows at Servants Jazz Quarters, London.

Stripping everything back and performing solo will give a new lease of life to the heavily relatable tunes that flow effortlessly from Ewald‘s tongue. Motorcycle.jpg is a four track EP showing his elegance and brilliance – take track one, Your Cat, for instance and you have the lyrics “Hey, man! I went to college, too,” which is exactly what we are thinking when some jock is churning out a cliche tale of how ‘cool’ the last few years have been.

Other notable lyrics from Motorcycle.jpg include “All my dreams are always violent, but I am not violent, so in my dreams I’m not so good at fighting,” (Building the Ark) giving the self-criticing impression that the protagonist can’t even do it right in an unconscious state. The self-pitying approach has worked for many bands of this genre, and Slaughter Beach, Dog are certainly destined for success with this EP.
