COQUIN MIGALE might be a familiar name if you attended READING AND LEEDS FESTIVAL last year. Headlining the BBC INTRODUCING STAGE has catapulted the Newcastle based band into nationwide exposure after domination the North East scene for the past few years.
“We have never really played a proper Boro show and being joined by Llovers is nice. It is always nice to hear you will be in good company.”
Last month Coquin Migale headlined, and sold out, Jumpin’ Jacks in Newcastle. A gig celebrating their rise and becoming one of the most talked about bands in the North East scene, which to be honest is one of the best at the moment (Plaza, The Pale White, Future Horizons, etc) is something the band are particularly proud of.
“It went down a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Over the past couple of years, bands have just been emerging out of nowhere and a handful of them bands are smashing it, which is great to see.”
If you were at that gig, or any other Coquin Migale show in recent months you will have heard some new music. An exciting time for the band, Alex reveals: “We can confirm that new tracks are being recorded right now – you can expect to hear them very soon!”
With a couple of festivals and new music on the horizon; expect to hear the name Coquin Migale be passed around a lot in the upcoming months.
