This morning, indie teen heartthrob and political activist Declan McKenna has announced a new UK and Ireland tour.

McKenna is currently on tour with 2016’s biggest breakout Blossoms across Europe and the Hertfordshire-born sensation will be hoping to emulate the Stockport quintet by making 2017 his. It seems as if Declan McKenna has been constantly touring over the last year or so; his American ventures with The Head and The Heart were followed up by supporting Blossoms on home soil, then straight into a tour of his own, all while his debut album was in the works.

Declan himself his suggested that his James Ford produced debut will be released some time during the Spring, so this tour looks set to accompany an imminent announcement surrounding the release of his eagerly anticipated record.

It’s fair to say that McKenna puts a lot of his success down to hard work, but his open-minded nature and positive glow is infectious and admirable which has heavily contributed to his rise. No doubt, his seemingly infinite abundance of energy will be there for everyone to see at his newly announced dates.

The tour will include three pre-existing shows in March including a sold out show at The Garage in London on the 23rd, which will conclude that run of shows. Then McKenna hits the road again in May, kicking things off with a show in Bristol before heading to Cambridge Junction. A selection of iconic venues will play host to this tour as well including Manchester Gorilla and Glasgow King Tut’s which will be his first headline shows at those respective venues.

Dublin and Belfast take the tour overseas, before returning to London to play the iconic Heaven and eventually concluding things in Brighton on the 30th of May.

Tickets will go on sale at 8am on the 24th of February, but Pre-Sale registration is currently open and they will go on sale on the 22nd at the same time.
